About
Simon is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Leicestershire. He returned to art later in life after building a career in graphic design, working across publishing, print, and creative agencies. A challenging period both personally and professionally led him back to his hometown, where he rediscovered drawing and the sense of calm and freedom it brings.

Around this time he met his wife, Kerry, and together they built a log cabin studio at the top of their garden, which Simon still works from today. Having a dedicated studio space allowed him to re-grow as an artist and experiment with different media, including acrylic inks, lino printing, and acrylic paints. He mainly works in oils for their longer drying time and flexibility, though he also enjoys the challenge of acrylic painting and working to shorter timeframes.

Commission work is central to Simon’s practice, as he values the personal connection between artist, client, and finished piece. He also exhibits at art fairs throughout the year, where he enjoys engaging with collectors, fellow artists, and visitors. Knowing his work is displayed in people’s homes, and seeing others connect with it, gives him the motivation to continue and bring colour and enjoyment into everyday spaces.
Experience & Events
Simon can be seen throughout the year exhibiting at Beaumanor Hall and Lamport Hall Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter fairs — keep an eye out for upcoming dates.

He also runs lino print and acrylic ink workshops at regular intervals locally and can be contacted via the enquiry form. Who knows, you might just find inspiration and unlock a hidden talent you never knew you had.

More recently, Simon has begun submitting work to competitions and is currently awaiting decisions from the BTA Awards and the Jackson’s Art Prize.
